PM Oli’s directive for intensifying reconstruction tasks

Kathmandu, Sept 6 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the concerned sides to intensify the post-quake reconstruction work.

While addressing the 13th meeting of the National Reconstruction Authority’s Directive Committee in Singh Durbar Thursday, Prime Minister Oli, who is also chair of the Committee, suggested managing houses for the quake survivors even after clearing obstacles in the legal and other areas.

According to the secretariat of the PM, the Prime Minister has directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work, as the NRA was a temporary body which should have completed its job in stipulated timeframe.

He also directed NRA to provide loans to the victims who had constructed the houses without receiving government grants. The Prime Minister also expressed his concern regarding the field allowances taken by Ex-CEO and other officials. He also urged to call the meeting in office time so that additional allowances will not be misused.

Prime Minister Oli said that there will be no compromise in rebuilding the iconic Dharahara, with the tender for it now approved based on a low quotation. However, the quality of the reconstruction work cannot be compromised.
