‘Guard of Honour’ offered to Indian PM Modi

Kathmandu, May 11 – A contingent of Nepal Army (NA) offered ‘guard of honour’ to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a state visit to Nepal.
At a special ceremony organized at Sainik Munch, Tundikhel, a 19-gun salute was offered in honour of the visiting Indian Prime Minster.
There has been a tradition to offer ‘guard of honour’ to show respect to the special guests.
Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli had welcomed Indian PM Modi at the Sainik Munch.
Indian PM Modi is the second special guest receiving guard of honour at Sainik Munch. Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khakan Abbasi was offered ‘guard of honour’ by the Nepal Army in his honour.
Also present on the occasion today were the members of Council of Ministers and Nepal Army Chief.
Indian PM Modi had arrived Kathmandu this afternoon in course of his two-day state visit.
Earlier, a civic reception was held in Province-2 headquarter, Janakpur, today in honour of PM Modi. Before this, he performed special worships at Ramjanaki Temple in Janakpur.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali had welcomed Indian PM Modi at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu today. The Indian PM had come Kathmandu through a special aircraft.
Immediately after the honour, PM Modi is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun at the Office of Vice-President, Bahadur Bhawan.

Indian PM Modi calls on President Bhandari

Visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at the Rastrapati Bhawan in Sheetal Niwas earlier today.

During the meeting, matters relating to bilateral relations and mutual concern were discussed. Modi, who arrived here today, is busy with high-level meetings as of this hour.

Indian PM feted with 121-Kg garlands

Janakpurdham, May 11 – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been offered a civic – reception at the Barhabigha ground today.

Indian PM Modi who arrived here on a two-day State visit was garlanded by three separate garlands, each garland weighing 121 kilogrammes.

The provincial government of the Province-2, Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Janakapur chapter feted PM Modi with garlands.

Mayor of Janakpur Sub-metropolitan City, Lal Kishore Saha offered a letter of felicitation to the visiting Indian Prime Minister. The letter of felicitation was in Maithili language.
