President Deuba, leader Poudel express grief over Khadka’s demise

Kathmandu, March 30 – Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of party leader and former Minister Khum Bahadur Khadka.

Issuing a condolences statement, President Deuba said he was saddened with the death of leader Khadka, who had played active role in various political movements including restoration of democracy.
The statement further said leader Khadka was imprisoned and exiled for long time during his political career.President Deuba further said the party and country fared a huge loss with the demise of leader Khadka.

President Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, extended condolences to the bereaved families.
Similarly, senior leader of the party Ram Chandra Poudel extended sorrow over Khadka’s demise. He mentioned that the party lost a good organizer and avid leader. Khadka had returned to Nepal from India with then NC president BP Koirala in 2033 BS with the mission of national reconciliation policy.

Suffering from kidney disease for long, leader Khadka died at 5:15 pm in course of treatment in the Apollo Hospital, India, Friday. He was 67 years old.
