Kathmandu, Jan 31 – Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Amjad Hussain B. Sial, has said the SAARC was taking initiatives in disaster management and risk reduction.
In his address to the South Asia Working Group Meeting on Crisis Response in South Asia today, the SAARC General Secretary also touched upon the going efforts of SAARC to promote peace and security in the region.
The two-day meeting organised by the Centre for South Asian Studies, Nepal and Near East and South Asia Centre for Strategic Studies, USA, was participated by prominent scholars and experts from South Asia and the USA.
