Kathmandu, March 8 – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday said political consensus between the government and the Alliance for Independent Madhes has marked an end to the way of violence in the country.
The agreement would be meaningful at a time when the government has pursued the path to good governance and prosperity, and it would wipe out those trying to take benefit in the name of secession, he said. “Nepal is a sovereign country. None can separate even an inch of its territory. No agreement can be made in this regard,” he said. PM Oli, also Chairperson of ruling Nepal Community Party (NCP) said the issues of forming parliament, government and amending the constitution could be carried out through a peaceful and democratic way as the constitution has guaranteed fundamental rights of the people.
He also lauded Dr CK Raut, the AIM coordinator, as a person like NCP Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ who could reach an uncommon decision and as having a character for advocating peace. He said the government has started steps to control and take action against corruption.
PM Oli was speaking at a programme where the government and the AIM reached 11-point agreement in city hall in the capital today.

Loot in the name of Communist
Hinting at the activities of Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party, PM Oli argued that his party was under the veil of communist ideology and was looting the people. The PM, in a gesture of sarcasm, urged Chand to consider changing the name of the party as he viewed that it would only defame the communist parties.
He said, “The government will launch search for those accumulating the arms and ammunitions and those posing threat to the peace and law and order of the country and would take stern action against them.”

I got the space: Raut
Dr Raut asserted that this peace agreement was a historic one in the political history of Nepal. Stating that the State and he was very concerned about addressing the burgeoning issues facing the country for some years, Dr Raut opined that today’s peaceful and safe landing was a historic day for the Nepal’s politics.
The Madhesi leader, earlier endorsing of successions of Madhesh from Nepal said, “We are the off spring of Buddha. We had been adhering to the principles of Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi. We never retaliated despite the severe oppression upon the Madhesi by the State. We chose to response with grace than guns.”
He further credited the incumbent government for forging a peace with him and his party, calling for peace and acknowledging the circumstantial situations. “We have also got a space in the mainstream politics of the country.”
Raut, thanking PM Oli for disseminating a message at political level through his personal intervention, urged one and all to work for the development and prosperity of the country, not giving any space to those bringing communal division.
Present at the programme were NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and many other communist leaders.
