SC orders Sumargi to deposit withdrawn amount

Kathmandu, Jan 10 – The Supreme Court (SC) has issued a written order to Mukti Cement’s proprietor Ajaya Raj Sumargi to deposit the amount he recently had withdrawn from the bank.

Earlier, issuing a short-term stay order until the next hearing, a single bench of Justice Deepak Raj Joshi on December 25 had directed the authorities concerned not to prevent Sumargi from withdrawing the amount from the bank. With this decision, Sumargi had withdrawn 7 million USD from the bank.

The division bench of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana and Justice Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai on Tuesday had denied continuing the previous order, terming the decision wrong.

Continuing the recent order of justice duo, the SC today issued written directive to Sumargi to deposit the withdrawn amount in the same bank account.
