Three major parties busy finalizing candidates

Kathmandu, Oct 31 (RSS): The three major political parties are currently focused in giving final shape to the list of candidates standing in the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly elections.
Seniors leaders of Nepali Congress and Madesh-centric parties are currently holding a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence to agree on a possible electoral alliance. This discussion however comes soon after the Rastriya Janata Party and the Federal Socialist Forum almost finalised the sharing of seats in the election to be held in the Tarai region in the second phase i.e. on December 7. Deliberations were underway late in the night, according to RJP leader Manish Suman.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML standing committee meeting is currently underway at the Bhaisepati residence of the party’s Vice-chair Bamdev Gautam. Candidates for all the provinces and districts would be finalized today, according to UML publicity department Secretary Bishnu Rijal.

The CPN-MC is also finalizing its share of candidates in the alliance with the UML today. MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal said this evening, during a programme held at his Lazimpat residence to welcome new entrants to his party, that the candidates would be finalized today itself.
